Tyler, Texas: The Rose Capital of America
We are proud to call Tyler home. Known as the Rose Capital of America, Tyler is home to the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, one of the largest public rose gardens in the country, with tens of thousands of rose bushes and hundreds of varieties. The annual Texas Rose Festival and the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail draw visitors from across the state, and the city’s mix of southern hospitality, strong schools such as UT Tyler and Tyler Junior College, and outstanding healthcare make it a wonderful place to raise a family and their pets.
Pet-Friendly Places to Explore in Tyler
Tyler offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with your four-legged friends:
- Tyler State Park: Wooded hiking trails and a spring-fed lake make this a favorite for leashed dogs and their families.

- Faulkner Park: Open spaces and walking trails offer room for active outings.
Throughout the year, local farmers markets, outdoor festivals, and community events welcome well-behaved pets. Before heading out, make sure your pet is current on vaccines and parasite prevention, and bring plenty of water during hot East Texas summers.
