Request an AppointmentWhat Sets Premier Veterinary Hospital Apart
Choosing a veterinarian is one of the most important decisions you make for your pet. Since Dr. Ashley Hogue opened our doors on South Broadway, our goal has been simple: deliver the kind of thorough, technology-driven medicine you would expect from a specialty hospital, with the warmth and personal attention of a hometown practice. Here is what Tyler families can expect when they trust us with their pets.
Experienced, Texas A&M-Trained Veterinarians
Our veterinarians are graduates of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hogue also holds a master’s degree in epidemiology and brings a background in emergency and critical care, pain management, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Together with Dr. Blake Weaver, whose interests include surgery, urgent care, and preventive medicine, our doctors bring a broad range of expertise to every case. Meet the full staff on our team page.
Advanced In-House Diagnostics
Fast answers lead to faster treatment. Our diagnostic department offers digital radiography, ultrasound, complete blood counts, chemistry panels, electrolytes, urinalysis, cytology, and intestinal parasite testing on site. We are proud to be the only hospital in Tyler offering in-house coagulation panels, which allows us to assess clotting function before surgery or during an emergency without waiting on an outside lab.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Few general practices in East Texas offer endoscopy, laparoscopy, and laparoscopic surgery. These techniques let us examine the stomach, intestines, airways, and urinary tract, retrieve swallowed objects, collect biopsies, and perform spays through tiny incisions. The result is less pain, less scarring, and a quicker return to normal life. We also perform stenotic nares surgery for flat-faced breeds that struggle to breathe.
Anesthesia Safety Protocols That Match Human Medicine
Every surgical and dental patient receives a pre-anesthetic exam and bloodwork, an IV catheter with fluids, and continuous monitoring of heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, capnography, ECG, and temperature by a dedicated technician. Patients rest on the same type of warming system used in human operating rooms, and most go home the same day.
Pain Management and Laser Therapy
Comfort is part of good medicine. We apply therapeutic laser treatments to most surgical incisions to reduce inflammation and speed healing, and we use laser therapy to help pets living with arthritis, hip dysplasia, wounds, and other painful conditions.
